Singapore, 26 May, 2023 – As part of its 21st Anniversary milestone event, the Singapore Street Festival 2023 (SSF)¹ is making a physical comeback packed with full-fledged events and competition to engage the youths and communities through the love of music, arts, dance, culture and sports.
In partnership with Lendlease, who is celebrating its 50th year of operations in Singapore, the upcoming SSF festival will be held from 7 July to 13 August 2023 across its four malls – 313@somerset, Jem, Parkway Parade and Paya Lebar Quarter with an Open Call for the youths to come forward with creative ideas based on the theme ‘Build on our 50 (years) for the next 50 (years)’.
In addition, there will also be specially curated Street Arts Exhibits across the four malls to mark
Street Arts 20th Anniversary celebration this year.
Whether you love Street soccer, Yo-Yo, Street Art, Belly Dancing, Singing or performing, we would love to have you on board at SSF 2023. This year, there is also a call for school choir groups to perform under
‘Busk It!’ featuring Choral4U.
Since 2002, SSF has connected with youth artists and talents in Singapore on its platform which allows them to showcase their talents in performing arts, lifestyle trends, and engaging in popular culture, providing opportunities to connect with industry figures and mentors, helping them to propel their passion.
This year will be a special one for SSF with previous years’ participants, performers, and alumni of SSF returning and lending their support to the event either by performing or headlining their respective events.
Some of the notable artists performing at SSF 2023 include Tay Sia Yeun, singer, vocal instructor, and finalist of the “Voices of China” Singapore Audition in 2014, who started her singing career at SSF 2004. She is also the Champion of SSF’s ‘WOW! Singing Competition’ in 2007. In addition, Jean Kyaw, who is a frequent performer at SSF and was also the winner of the Wow! Singapore Street Festival Award in 2011 will be performing at SSF 2023.
Returning mentors and youth leaders who are back to organise their respective events at SSF2023 include:
Previously, SSF celebrated its 20th Anniversary with ‘NXT – A Virtual Music Festival’ where various musicians and professionals such as Tama Goh, Colin Yong, Felix Phang, Fabian Lim, Sebastian Ho, Govin Tan, Rit Xu, from the music industry provided mentorship to the youths and performing groups to work with youth composers, Syafiqah Adha Sallehin, Lee Jin Jun and Terrence Wong. The artists came together to perform a very inspiring finale song, “FINALLY”, which was composed and written by Dick Lee and arranged by Indra Sharir.

The official opening of the festival is slated on 7 July 2023 from 5pm at Paya Lebar Quarter, Level 1 PLQ Plaza. More information on the official launch will be provided nearer to the date.
Singapore Street Festival is a non-profit social and community project. This yearly festival provides youths in Singapore with a platform and an opportunity to showcase their talents, skills and capabilities in the performing arts and visual arts.
Founded in 2002, Singapore Street Festival’s platform also allows youth to come forward to be trained in organising, including planning and execution, also in stage management skills.
Singapore Street Festival believes that the new generation of youths are experts in the digital world and are great influences to their peers. Youths are not just the leaders of tomorrow, they are also youth leaders of today.
SSF 2023’s theme is The NXT Generation which implies Curiosity, Creativity, Innovation, Novelty and Forward-thinking.
